From the founding of the Namibia Miners Investment Trust in 1997 to a portfolio that has grown more than a hundredfold.
NAM-MIC Holdings — established 1997
The Namibia Mineworkers Investment Holdings Company (NAM-MIC Holdings) (Pty) Ltd was incorporated on 7 July 1997, when the National Executive Committee of the Mine Workers Union of Namibia created the Namibia Miners Investment Trust (NAMIT).
Since then NAM-MIC has grown its portfolio more than a hundred times over, and is now able to fund an initiative that gives MUN members, former members and their dependants direct benefits from the continued growth of that portfolio.
That initiative is NAMITVEST — the vehicle through which a member can hold a piece of it in their own name.
1997
NAM-MIC Holdings incorporated on 7 July, after the MUN National Executive Committee creates NAMIT.
Since then
The portfolio grows over 100×, across financial services, mining, telecoms, hospitality and healthcare.
Today
NAMITVEST holds 25% of NAM-MIC, and offers SHAREs to MUN members, former members and their dependants at a 50% discount to market value.
